I was saddened to hear about Marilyn’s passing. I have so many fond memories of time spent with her here in Saskatoon and during our one visit to Cape Breton Island. She was such a force of positive energy. I remember opening the door one day in the ’80s when I was a harried working mother with two children and a husband who was constantly in demand at the theatre and other community ventures to find Marilyn with a big basket of freshly picked strawberries. It was so generous and so welcomed. When Tibor and I first moved to Saskatoon, she was one of the people who went out of her way to make us feel welcomed and a part of this community. And it wasn’t long before she and Tibor were working together on an opera.
I can only imagine the loss you must be feeling now, when someone as vibrant as Marilyn moves on from this life.
To the family of Marilyn Harrison: Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of your mother. I was one of her many piano students and I will forever cherish her interest and passion. She was a kind and loving friend and I feel fortunate to have met her and learn under her tutelage. My thoughts and prayers are with you, especially Amanda, Rachel and Christopher whom I had the pleasure to meet. Julie Larade
