  1. The MacDonald’s have been close neighbours and friends in Port Hood’s north end to four generations of my Gillies family. We will miss Collie as a neighbour and a source of information on life in Port Hood over the past ninety years. We will miss his wry smile and teasing nature, always in good fun. Our sympathy is extended to his three daughters — Mary, Joanne and Colleen, their spouses and children and grandchildren, as well as his siblings — aunt Mary Veronica, Angus L and Phyllis. May he rest in eternal peace. — John & Cathy Gillies

  2. Our sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Collie. He was the keeper of family history and stories, which were appreciated by so many. RIP Collie
    Tony and Flo Campbell

  3. The family of Collie are in our thoughts and prayers at this time as from Judique I reflect on our common history and family. Sending deep sympathy and prayers. Theresa (D.R. & Catherine’s) & John MacInnis

  4. I was sad to hear of Collie’s Passing. He represented the best in Scottish Attributes, with a sense of clannishness that will be hard to beat. If you were a ” little William” you were fine in Collie’s books. And Woe to those who could not repeat the lineage verbatim- Didn’t you read “the Book”? The book of course was Fair is the Place, and Collie must have had it memorised. A great loss to those interested in family history.! May you Rest in Peace!
Condolences to the whole family, daughters, grandchildren and siblings. We will see you in Judique, Collie.
    Sincerly Winnie Rankin

  5. Our deepest sympathy to Collie’s family. Collie became a close friend of ours 25 years ago and we so enjoyed that scolding smile, when you were winging it on relations or local history. We will miss his early morning visits covering politics, relations, painting advice and why everyone should be driving a GM. Marion and Jimmie Mac Isaac.

  6. Our thoughts and prayers are with Collies family at this time….We saw him last summer ….his health was failing, but his mind was sharp, he will be missed …Terry(Rankin) and Donnie Macdonald
