  4. Or condolences go out to the family. I feel kind of close to him because his daughter Lisa came into our family. And since he brought up Lisa he must have been a good father, because Lisa is a person of good character and love. We love her very much. May God comfort them and give them peace.

  5. To John’s family sincere condolences I was involved with John in Boy Scouts, really enjoyed the camping trips! I dropped into the hospital in Cheticamp and had a nice visit with him in the spring. Thanks for the memories John. rest in peace my friend. Jim Wilson of Sydney River

  6. Matthew, Celina, Lisa and all of your families, and Albertine;
    Karl and I are so very sorry for your loss. We remember John fondly from so many years back when we lived next door, he was such a hard worker and always very kind to all of us, even when I’m sure he was not happy that we sprayed our lawn with pesticide. He was ahead of his time in showing concern for the environment before the rest of us caught on! May your happy memories of good times with him help you through your sadness.

  7. Condolences to the Payne family on your loss. Lots of great memories of John over the years, always laughing and joking but also a sensitive and intelligent person. On halloween many years ago, was taking Justin out trick or treating in the neighborhood. John had done a great job of making up a life size zombie that was propped up on a chair on his front deck. As we went to the door, it jumped up and gave both of us quite a fright. Of course it was John up to his tricks. Lots of great memories.

  10. So sad to hear of John’s passing. He was a dear friend to our family. It was always a lot of fun when he would drop by for dinner or a visit. His conversations were always delightful and kind and loaded with great humor. John overcame my obstacles in his life and never ever complained. He always accepted things for the way they were and was creative in looking for ways to create better outcomes. He was very kind to our family and his fun stories will live on with the Maguires forever. See you again in the next life my friend. Rest in peace..

    Much love,

    Mark and Caroline Maguire and Family.

  11. I didn’t know John very well..just met him when he came to our office to see the Dr. He came in with a big smile, even while he knew he wasn’t feeling well..and of course the teasing, which he continued at every visit..even when he wasn’t doing well, he still thought kindly enough to send us a card to thank us for our kindness to him..I enjoyed the banter and missed it when he couldn’t come around. Fly high with the angels John..God Bless

  14. I was so saddened to hear of John’s passing. He was a great neighbor and always lots of fun and gave our neighborhood lots of good memories. He actually came to Mike’s funeral which I appreciated so much and left me a beautiful message in the sympathy card. He will certainly be missed but I know he and Mike will be trying to outdo each other with stories of working at Municipal Ready Mix. You will be missed, you were another good man, gone too soon.

  15. Dear Matthew, Celina, Lisa, Albertine, families, and John’s siblings

    We were so saddened to just find out about John’s passing this week. Kevin stopped in to visit with John in Cheticamp the end of the summer and was saddened to hear that he was sick. They had a couple of phone conversations and emails back and forth after that. When Kevin called last night to see how he was doing he felt terrible. Although they haven’t seen each other in many years, Kevin often spoke of John and thought of him as a good friend. Our heart goes out to you all.

    Love Kevin and Natalie
