I had the honor of being Ernest’s nurse for many years in RDU. He was one of the kindest souls I have had the pleasure of meeting. He was always looking out for others and never worried about his own needs. He never had an easy go but he always had a smile .He hated needles and I had the unfortunate task of doing that dirty deed for the first dialysis treatment using his fistula. He was more concerned about my feelings than his fear. That’s just how Ernie was… one amazing man. I will miss him .
