  1. I’m sorry to hear of Nelson’s passing. I remember him from the Homestead Camp back in 1980/1981 when he was a camp councillor. In the evening he would take a group of the campers in his Chrysler Le Baron to a store in Port Morien or Glace Bay for ice cream. There were many songs played at the campfire at the church camp with Nelson leading the pack of young campers along with Pastor Rick Hayden. Nelson was a great person and the 1980’s was a great time to be growing up in Cape Breton. My condolences to his family and close friends. I’m sorry for your loss.

  2. Nelson’s family:

Our condolences on Nelson’s passing. I taught with Nelson at DMHS for many years and kept in contact with him after he left. He was a good man, kind, funny and great teacher. I will miss our chats.
Nelson was my home room teacher in grade 10, he was very supportive to all of us and great teacher. Keep your fond and happier memories close to your hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this sad time in your lives.

    Kind Regards
