It is with great sadness that I write this message. I wish I could be there with you to bid a fond farewell to Cassie.
She was a wonderful aunt and friend when I was growing up in Cape Breton. When our father passed, both my sister (Gina) and I, lived with our grandparents and Cassie for a little while. I will never forget their kindness. I still remember the wonderful meals in their beautiful dining room and the many games of cards we played with friends and neighbours.
I also remember envying the gorgeous dresses Cassie would wear when going out for the evening. She looked like a princess.
Cassie had a great sense of humour and a hearty laugh. She loved a good story.
A visit home will never be the same without Mom, Cassie and all our other aunts and uncles who have passed; however, they will be in our hearts forever.
